Euro Cucina is the International Kitchen Furniture Exhibition and has been running concurrently with the International Bathroom Exhibition since 1974 during the even-numbered years. This spectacular event takes place at the Milan Fairgrounds in Rho bringing the top Italian and foreign manufactures together for everyone to admire. Euro Cucina is Europe’s only major trade show and brings in over 290,000 visitors into a space that is over 270,000 square feet.
Richlin International’s Showroom Manager, Kelly Reese, attended this years amazing event and was able to get a front row seat to view the beautiful creations the Italian brands are showcasing. Brands such as Gessi, Graff, Rifra, Flexform, Poliform, and Varenna were present and showing the latest products to hit the market for 2014.
Gessi was introducing the new KAROL bathroom furniture as well as cabinetry. KAROL is recognized for its flawless contemporary bathroom cabinetry that is both functional as well as beautifully designed. Also showcased was the Eleganza Collection for the American market and has a more transitional feel and look. It has a special touch of elegance while surrounding your life in an amazingly beautiful design. The Cono Collection featured the new revolutionary design of contemporary fusion art for the bathroom. Along with these gorgeous collections were an array of breathtaking chroma therapy lighting, LED and colors. “This was definitely a theme throughout the fair for bathroom plumbing” says Miss Reese.
Graff showcased the Ametis shower in a booth that viewed more as a masterpiece of art. These amazing shower systems have definitely broke the mold and bring the most fascinating water-delivery system you have ever seen. Mix in the different colors of LED lighting available and it may just become your favorite place in your home. Also featured were new vanities, sinks, cabinets, mirrors, bathtubs and rugs.
New trends and products that can be viewed from Rifra included the 2HD LED mirrors that were everywhere to be seen, as well as the introduction of their concrete finish for cabinets. Yes, we said concrete finish! Also on display was the new round Corian bathtub – a piece you want to jump right into – and the new K.FLY Collection of single and double wall-mounted vanities.
Flexform introduced new finishes including cashmere fabrics, high end leathers and glossy woods. These beautiful finishes are sure to catch anyone’s eyes as they want into a room! Also introduced were the marble tops for coffee tables and side tables. Pair with the glossy woods and you have a perfect conversation piece! The Ground Piece sectional sofa was highly displayed throughout the fair and remains Flexform’s number one selling sofa.
Poliform was showcasing the new Bristol sofa. The Bristol sofa features soft and comfortable shapes with wraparound double backrest cushions. Another great addition were the new glass inserts for the wall systems. This allows for that contemporary feel to flow through the entire home. New interior leather for drawers and tops were introduced for the closet systems. There were also new drawer pulls for cabinets and new interior finishes are now available.
Countertops are now trending to be thinner – this was displayed throughout the Varenna booths and were a huge hit. LED lights are also becoming popular for the kitchen. LED lights are now available for under the cabinets and inside as well. There is also more inner and countertop storage for accessories – extra storage is always a plus! Along with the new storage, new wood finishes were introduced as well as new touch “knock” cabinet pulls. Varenna will also be introducing kitchen tables and key pieces of furniture to accompany their already gorgeous kitchens.
